Biography
DJ Trini was born on the beautiful island of Trinidad in the West Indies, home of the biggest and best party on earth – Carnival. He later migrated to the United States, co-residing in Brooklyn, New York and Washington, DC. To date, DJ Trini still calls the DMV his home! His career started on the college circuit with rotational gigs at the following educational institutions: University of Maryland, University of Virginia, North Carolina A&T, Howard University, Hampton University, Virginia State, Norfolk State & more.
After his college circuit days, Trini continued to progressively elevate in the game as the personal DJ for the famous stars, athletes, and musicians such as Alonzo Mourning, Patrick Ewing, Allen Iverson, Michael Jordan, Ray Lewis, Lavar Arrington, Chris Bosh, Steve Francis, Clinton Portis, Mike Tyson, & LeBron James.
Outside of DJ Trini’s extensive list of famous star support, he’s amassed an impressive resume of major events in his career. Events include Trinidad Carnival, DC Carnival, Miami Carnival, Clinton Gore Inauguration Event, NBA All-Star Official Parties (ATL, DC, LA, AZ, & NYC), Usher Raymond’s 21st Beverly Hills Birthday Party, Various DC Mayor Anthony Williams Events, Zo’s Summer Grove Official DJ, Marc Barnes South Beach events, Soul Train Awards (Los Angeles), & Former Official DJ for Washington Wizards.
As a result of his illustrious career, DJ Trini has had quite an elaborate list of television appearances over the years. His appearances include Rap City (BET), Planet Groove (BET), 106 & Park (BET), Teen Summit (BET), & Fox 5 Morning News.
Over the years, Trini has truly enjoyed partnering and supporting various clubs in the US (DC/VA/MD and other area) as a resident DJ. Clubs of residency include Republic Gardens, Quiggleys, Onyx Nite Club (South Beach), Blossoms, Ritz, DC Live, VIP Club, Platinum Club, 1223 Club, H2O Club, Lux lounge, The Park at 14th, K Street lounge, Stadium club, Iris Lounge, Stonefish Lounge, Babylon, Pure Lounge, & Hashtag Lounge VA.
DJ Trini is currently a live radio broadcast DJ for Radio One’s, 93.9 WKYS Friday & Saturday Night Live Mix from 9 PM – 10 PM and occasional Lunch Break Mix.
